Tax Day Tea Party Media Coverage

In order to understand just how bad the coverage was, you have to understand what 'Teabagging' is. Younger views, please move on to the next post now. Teabagging is when a man lowers a certain part of his genitalia on to someones face (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=teabagger). What could be more sad than needing to describe a graphic sexual act in order to explain just how bad the media coverage was, needing to warn you that the teabagging reference is just one of many sexual thinly veiled sexual innuendos in the coverage.

The worst offenders were MSNBS's Shuster and Olberman. Please observe a Content Warning in all of the clips in this post for sexual references. In the Olberman clip (and this is just one of the clips I could have used), Garofalo explains how the participants at these rallies are racist and mentally ill.

Democrats are not saying very nice things about us Tea Party Protesters. Head to http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/04/house_democrat_leaders_tea_par.asp for some specifics.

Some people also have this idea that the protests are 'AstroTurf'. In other words it is a fake grass roots protest. They could not be further from the truth. Unlike the highly organized and financed left, the right does not have anyone that could orchestrate this. Tea Parties are the manifestation of frustration bubbling over. Many of the people who I talked to had never been to a protest before. Most were not young individuals either, so to say that they had never protested before was significant.

Fox News destroyed its competition in the ratings. Not only did they take the top six slots by huge margins, but a comedy show took seventh and a second comedy show just missed the eighth.
