There were 20 home runs in the first series at the new Yankee Stadium. That is a record for an opening series at a new stadium. Some think that record could be a result of the wind flow through it. There are of course other potential factors, mostly human. That is the relative skills of the pitchers and batters. A westerly wind is specifically what could be at play here. It will take more games and some serious number crunching to find out if the wind is a significant factor. Until then it is just something to keep in the back of your mind.
