Charlie Hebdo: first cover since terror attack depicts Muhammad
They have refused to be silenced by violence. So did the millions of people who bought every issue as soon as they hit the stands. giving people the veto of violence would be the end of truly free speech.

"The front cover of Wednesday’s edition of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, the first since last week’s attack on its Paris offices that left 12 people dead, is a cartoon of the prophet Muhammad.
The cover shows the prophet shedding a tear and holding up a sign reading “Je suis Charlie” in sympathy with the dead journalists. The headline says “All is forgiven”.
...
A record 3m copies are to be printed, in 16 languages, after the massacre triggered a worldwide debate on free speech and brought more than 4 million people on to the streets of France in a unity march on Sunday.
...
The cover cartoon was drawn by the weekly’s cartoonist Luz, who survived the massacre because he was late arriving at the office."

USA Snubs Rally Historic Rally Where 40+ World Leaders And a Million+ People Marched After The Paris Terror Attacks
When the Leader of Israel and PLA show up to the same rally as the high ranking representatives or leaders from Ukraine and Russia, not to mention more world leaders than can comfortably fit into a caption; a rally against fear, against terrorism, against violence, for freedom of expression... and the leader of the free world can't even be bothered to send a rep down that anyone would recognize...

"President Barack Obama and other top members of his administration have snubbed a historic rally in Paris today that brought together more than 40 world leaders from Europe, Africa, the Middle East and even Russia.
'France is our oldest ally,' Obama said during a speech Friday in Tennessee. 'I want the people of France to know that the United States stands with you today, stands with you tomorrow.'
But he wasn't standing in Paris as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas put aside their differences and linked arms.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lavrov made the same unifying gesture in the march down the Place de la Concorde in defiance of the Islamist terror attacks that rocked the city last week.
According to an administration official, President Obama spent part of his Sunday afternoon watching a National Football League game on television. Both games were broadcast hours after the march."

Terrorists Murder 12 in an Attack on Charlie Hebdo Publication
A despicable cowardly attack that saw the point blank execution of a surrendering-wounded police officer, over the publication of some pictures they found offensive. Do not allow the threat, or actual violence, to chill free speech.

2015 Begins
My first wish for you in 2015 is the same as 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009; may this year be more interesting then the last. I continue to mean it as a blessing, not a curse, as the opposite just seems so awful.
May the best of your past be the worst of your future.
Remember, 'Life is about moving forward. If you can't run, you walk. If you can't walk, you crawl. When you can't crawl; when you can't do that, you find someone to carry you.' This year find someone new who will carry you, and who would depend on you to carry them as well.
