House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) is part of a team of Republicans that have set out create embarrassing moments for Democrats. They are targeting vulnerable freshman, representatives who are not as knowledgeable regarding how to block the attack. The hope is to create 'YouTube moments' that will hurt the representative in their efforts to run for reelection. They have created a photo album to help identify the 43 deemed most vulnerable.
Democrats are reacting. They have pulled some of the freshman off the floor at the start of the attacks and are going to have a conference to train them on what to do. As long as they keep the attacks about the issues and/or the target's voting record, this seems a perfectly legitimate tactic to me.

Good lord, is Cantor taking his political cues from the movie Mean Girls?
ReplyDeleteThis is insanely juvenile.
