Donald Trump reportedly gave the green light to fire Carrie Prejean. The Miss California crown has now been stripped from her. The reason cited was repeated contract violations, not her views on marriage.
Carrie Prejean may get the last laugh. She is now free to write a book and pursue other opportunities now unencumbered by the duties/responsibilities of being Miss California, as well as being more famous then she could have reasonably hoped for had there never been a controversy around her answer on marriage and the response to it.
Tami Farrell, who was the first runner up, will be the new Miss California.

"I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so," Trump said in the same documents. it's also possible that Trump blurted out "You're Fired!" as a result of a mild case of Turrets Syndrome, which would mean Prejean is still fired, but at least it was an accident
