Reactions to Netanyahu's Speech at Bar Ilan University

The reaction to Netanyahu's Speech at Bar Ilan University has been what many expected (Berman Post: Netanyahu Speaks at Bar Ilan University). The West, importantly the United States, sees this as a move in the right direction. The Arab/Muslim world has slammed it. Such reaction actually increases the effectiveness of Netanyahu's speech. The West is trying to push Israel to help create a Palestinian State. Israel just said 'ok, but first we want them to recognizes us for who we are, where we are, and disarm'. After all, if they really only want a state and it will be given to them, they should have no need be militarized with weapons of terror. They should also be willing to define their area/territory by recognizing the existence and rights of their neighbors. Not only have they failed to agree, but they are attacking the requests as totally unreasonable. When Obama pushes Netanyahu to move forward before he is ready, Netanyahu can point to the other side and say he is waiting for them first. He also throw it back at Obama asking how he is supposed to deal with people who are unwilling to take reasonable steps/compromises, and that Obama should go pressure them first.
