Google to Include Tweets in Search Results

Tweets will soon be showing up in your Google search results. This will go a long way toward helping Google close the real-time gap. No word on exactly how long until the system is up and running, but it should prove useful when it does.

"we are very excited to announce that we have reached an agreement with Twitter to include their updates in our search results. We believe that our search results and user experience will greatly benefit from the inclusion of this up-to-the-minute data, and we look forward to having a product that showcases how tweets can make search better in the coming months. That way, the next time you search for something that can be aided by a real-time observation"

"we've partnered with Google to index the entire world of public tweets as fast as possible and present them to their users in an organized and relevant fashion.

... We're honored to take this next step with Google and tap into their expertise to support the rapid, open exchange of information.
"

Update: Just to be clear, this will not effect people who set their tweets to private. Private tweets will not be indexed.
