It took six votes, but Michael Steele was voted Republican National Committee Chairman. The final vote was 91 for Steele and 77 for Dawson. He is the first African American RNC Chairman. Effectively, this means that we have a black man in charge of each major American political party (Obama for the Democrats and Steele for the Republicans). Is he the right man for the job. From what I know of him I think he is. His first test is going to be the bailout, and it is coming up fast. Let us see what he can do.

ReplyDeleteThis is a very, very sad day for America. The election of Steele proves that the Republican party will not go in the direction they need to for the sake of our country. They can expect to be in the minority for quite some time to come.
Are you a true conservative or just a kool aid drinker? If you are a true conservative then you would listen to what this other true conservative has to say about him.

He's a RINO. On that we can be clear. This proves that the Republican Party's move to the Left might be a permanent legacy of the Bush years.
