McGruff the crime fighting dog was assaulted by a Metro bus driver. The driver apparently saw him and thought it would be funny to get out of his bus and punch McGruff in the face. The bus driver has been put on administrative leave pending investigation. He has also been charged with assault. The guy wearing the McGruff costume, a DC cop. It was unclear if the cop was hurt in the incident but is back at work. No one thought it was funny.
