Obama Nominated For a Nobel Peace Prize

Word has leaked that Obama is among the 2009 nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize. He is among the record breaking 205 candidates for this years prize. While he is drawing down US forces in Iraq to potentially 50,000, he is still keeping them there until the date agreed to by President G. W. Bush (Berman Post: Obama to Pull Combat Troops From Iraq by August 2010). Obama also order an additional 17,000 troops in to Afghanistan (Berman Post: Obama to Send 17,000 More Troops to Afghanistan). Add to this that he has not done much regarding global peace if only because he has only been in office for little over a month, and he clearly should not the front runner.
