David Kernell Indicted in Sara Palin Email Hacking Case

David Kernel pleaded not guilty yesterday to hacking into Sara Palin's Yahoo email account. He was free to leave on the condition that he, does not leave East Tennessee without written permission, refrains from using computers for non college/work purposes, and does not contact Sara Palin or her family.

Conservative Bloggers were on his trail almost instantly, and apparently made the connection from the anonymous hacker to David Kernel before the authorities did.

David Kernel is currently enrolled in the University of Tennessee. He is the son of Democratic state Representative Mike Kernell (Memphis).

If convicted, David Kernal could go to prison for a maximum of five years, a $250,000 fine, and a three years of probation.
