Infrastructure is a legitimate government job, but that is not a free pass to shovel money into a burning pit for no good reason.

  1. Yeah but burning green makes the environment greener. Maybe we should all just kill ourselves.

  2. @Broliath - I do not remember where, but I remember making the sarcastic rhetorical comment to some ultra liberal I met at college that if America was such a bad/evil/destructive... country do they think the world would be a better place if the US preemptively nuked itself. The person got quite and I swear looked as if they were seriously considering that we should. Try as I might, I do not think I will ever be able to understand some people; and there are some people I really do not want to try.

  3. ha right, good one.

So when "conservatives" (notice the quotes) take it upon themselves to advocate on behalf of concentrated powerful interests in American society, and their rhetoric takes on the frame of Calhounist constitutionalism/ racism- That's a totally crazy conclusion that no rational person can come to.

They were probably quiet because of the inanity of your comment. What point do you really think your making with that if your not the one whose actually misguided/ misinformed in the conversation? Did you come to the conclusion that this "liberal" is all about making the case that America is "evil"? What is that? who appointed you the defender of "America"? does America not have problems? are they all caused by "liberals"? should we just kill all the "liberals"?

That kind of rhetoric isn't even all that sarcastic, its just condescending.

You should try harder understanding people

  4. @Ian Spencer Dubrowsky - I did not have to come to the conclusion he thought America was evil, he said it. There is a difference between having some problems and being evil. You had to be their to see the look on his face, it was not a look of puzzlement, but of legitimate consideration.
