The Massachusetts special election Senate race between Scott Brown (R) and Martha Coakley (D) is really starting to heat up. A Republican having a chance in Massachusetts is a pretty big statement in itself, but an actual win would be huge. It would break the Democratic filibuster-proof-majority. Brown was able to raise more than a million dollars in a single day, more than double his goal. The DSCC is throwing almost 600k at the race in response to Brown's massive fundraiser. Coakley is starting to stumble with a campaign ad that misspelled the state's name and declared that Afghanistan was now free of terrorists at the same time saying there was no way to succeed there.
