Gitmo Recidivism Rate Increases to 20 Percent

This statistic may have less impact on our decision to close Gitmo then our confidence in who we are letting go. Closing Gitmo does not automatically mean they will be released, just moved. Moving creates a long list of legal headaches and problems I have already gone over. It is also important to note that this number represents a known recidivism rate and the true number may be significantly higher.

"A new Pentagon analysis shows the number of former Guantanamo detainees that it says have returned to the fight has continued to rise to 20 percent, up from the 14 percent recidivism rate released last spring. The latest increase continues the upward trend from the two previous reports."
