Journalist Who Threw Shoes at Bush Sentenced Reduced

Al-Zeidi, the journalist who threw his shoe at then President Bush (G.W.) (Berman Post: President Bush Dodges Two Shoes), will be released from prison early. He was originally sentenced to three years (Berman Post: Journalist Who Threw Shoes at Bush Sentenced to Three Years), but will be released from prison after just one. Good behavior and a lack of any criminal history are the cited reasons for the reduction.

Al-Zeidi was initially sentenced to three years in prison after pleading not guilty to assaulting a foreign leader. The court reduced it to one year because the journalist had no prior criminal history.
