The markets rose steeply today on news that Obama has pegged Timothy Geithner (current New York Federal Reserve Bank chief) to head the Treasury. The Dow ended the week above the 8,000 mark after a 6.54% increase on the day. The Nasdaq and S&P were up sharply as well each gaining more than 5%.
