After nearly two years, the election has come to an end. Barack Obama is the winner. The numbers are not finalized, but Obama will have more then the necessary 270 electoral votes. It also seems almost assured that he will take the popular vote. This is a historic presidential election that has put the first African American into office.
I may disagree with many of his policy's, but I am a firm believer in the democratic process; Barack Obama will be my president. That does not mean for one second that I will not do what ever I can to push the values and policies of conservative principles which I firmly believe in.
For tonight at least, I must put politics aside and congratulate Barack Obama on his historic achievement. It is a shame that his grandmother is not here to see it.
