The Dow fell just under 5% today losing 411 points. This is amid a tremendous amount of bad economic news. Add to this the new political uncertainty as it is announced that the $700 Billion bail out will not be spent in the way in which it was justified. It is not clear exactly how it will be spent now, but it looks like another $500 Billion could be coming down the "pipes". We are starting to come close to breaking through the 8,000 point Dow mark.
