To All Veterans Past And Present, Thank You

I was very happy to see that even a small seemingly out of the way and forgotten memorial received the proper treatment on this Veterans' Day. To often, people get caught up in the big gestures and forget about the little ones. I am glad that did not happen here.

Pictures embedded below.

Here is The Warrior Song if you want to get a little 'pumped'.

If you are in the mood for something a little more touching, here are videos of returning soldiers being greeted by their dogs or surprising their children (more at the source).

Google has gotten in on the action with a special Youtube channel which you can see by heading to http://www.youtube.com/veterans.

You can find some history on how Armistice Day (The day World War One ended on 'the eleventh hour of the eleventh day on the eleventh month') at http://www1.va.gov/opa/vetsday/vetdayhistory.asp including how and why the celebration day was changed for a few years.

If you are so moved, Glenn Reynolds points out that you can donate to Project Valour-IT.
