.50 Beowulf

The Beowulf takes a AR15/M16 style weapon and gives it the punch of a .50 caliber bullet, at least within the first 200 yards. Your first clue that you are staring down the barrel of a Beowulf modified rifle (instead of the standard) is the unusually large hole at the end of the barrel, a half inch hole. The second seems to be the sounds it makes. I have not seen it fired in person, but the sound seems different then the standard round in the video.

If you are close enough to notice the size of the barrel or if you hear the sound, chances are it has already seriously ruined not only your day but the rest of your (short) life. Chance are also good that the vehicle you were driving will never run again, or the barrier you were hiding behind is no longer solid/intact.

It is impressive how fast the gun converts. The downside is the extra weight of the upper receiver and ammo you need to carry with you if you do not want to use it exclusively in the Beowulf configuration. Given the extra power and versatility, especially if you are riding in a convoy (meaning you do not have to carry the gear), it appears worth it.
