The best response would be to point out that it is not the government's money. It does not cost the government anything to maintain the tax cut; they are not giving money to people, just not taking as much as they would otherwise. Your paycheck does not belong to the government. You pay check belongs to you, a (rather large and possibly increasing sized) piece is taken from you by the government in taxes. By the logic in this video, if they tax you at 50% it really means that they are giving you half you paycheck. In reality they would not be giving you half back, they would be taking away half.
