Weiner's (D) Officially Resigns

It took a few days from the announcement to make it official, but the letter is now in.

"Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) has now officially resigned from the House of Representatives—and House Speaker John Boehner (R.-Ohio) has the letter to prove it.

“I hereby resign as the Member of the House of Representatives for New York’s Ninth Congressional District effective at midnight Tuesday June 21, 2011,” Weiner wrote. “It has been an honor to serve the people of Queens and Brooklyn.”

The letter, dated June 20, is addressed to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D.) and  Cesar Perales, New York’s Secretary of State. It is carbon-copied to Boehner and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.)"
