Cop Threatens a Man With Rape in Jail?

Large Companies Prepare For 9% Increase in Costs Under ObamaCare as Supporters Drop 'Cost Saving' Promise

Critics of ObamaCare seem to have been proven correct once again.

"This one’s for you, Missouri!

Key White House allies are dramatically shifting their attempts to defend health care legislation, abandoning claims that it will reduce costs and deficit, and instead stressing a promise to “improve it.”…

The confidential presentation, available in full here and provided to POLITICO by a source on the call, suggests that Democrats are acknowledging the failure of their predictions that the health care legislation would grow more popular after its passage, as its benefits became clear and rhetoric cooled. Instead, the presentation is designed to win over a skeptical public, and to defend the legislation — and in particular the individual mandate — from a push for repeal…

The presentation also concedes that the fiscal and economic arguments that were the White House’s first and most aggressive sales pitch have essentially failed…

The presentation’s final page of “Don’ts” counsels against claiming “the law will reduce costs and deficit.”

The powerpoint comes from a lefty shop called the Herndon Alliance, which “partners” with ObamaCare shills like the AFL-CIO, SEIU, MoveOn, etc."

Operation Iraqi Freedom Ends

At the end of the month we will still have 50,000 troops advisers and people who can/will give assistance in Iraq. Despite that, Operation Iraqi Freedom has officially ended ... Successfully; despite the best efforts and misguided intentions of predominantly Democrats and liberals in the earlier stages of the conflict.

http://blog.heritage.org/2010/08/19/hooah-surge-heroes-end-operation-iraqi-freedom

"Operation Iraqi Freedom ends on your watch!” exclaimed Col. John Norris of the the 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, as the final U.S. combat brigade crossed into Kuwait from Iraq early this morning.
...
By the end of August the United States will still have about 50,000 troops in six brigades in Iraq. These “advise and assist brigades” will be primarily tasked with training Iraqi troops with the ultimate goal of all U.S. troops out of Iraq by December 31st, 2011.

The successful end of Operation Iraqi Freedom is a complete vindication of President George Bush’s surge strategy and Gen. David Petraeus’ and Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno’s implementation of it. Credit should also be given to President Barack Obama who had the courage to completely abandon his reckless campaign rhetoric and eventually embrace an adult policy on the issue."
