ACORN Sues James O'Keefe, Hannah Giles And Andrew Breitbart

ACORN has filed suit against James O'Keefe, Hannah Giles and Andrew Breitbart. Technically speaking, the film makers may have violated the law and as such, may actually lose the case. I can not help feel like this is part of a trap though. The film makers have been a few steps ahead of ACORN and have not only expressed no fear from a law suit but actually dared ACORN to sue. The trap here may be a trade off between what ever the (hopefully) minuscule punishment is for illegally recording someone against the use of discovery to find out even more damming things to use to bring down ACORN.

Evidence of Large Quantities of Water on The Surface of The Moon

India's first lunar mission (Berman Post: India Reachs The Moon) has found evidence of water on the surface; large quantities. Add to that recent discovery of uranium (Berman Post: Uranium Detected on The Moon), and lunar colonies could be a lot more economically feasible then we thought even a year ago.

Data from Chandrayaan-1 also suggests that water is still being formed on the Moon. Scientists said the breakthrough — to be announced by Nasa at a press conference today — would change the face of lunar exploration.

IRS Cuts Ties with ACORN

The IRS has cut ties with ACORN over the scandal where employees were caught on tape advising a fake prostitute how to skirt federal tax laws and not get caught running an under age brothel with children who have been smuggled into the country. One worker even seemed to be offering advice on how to get the children into the country and wanted a 'piece of the action'.

Carper wants to keep the cost to drug companies at $80 billion; apparently, he thinks a secret deal is a deal, while the FDL folks think Congress shouldn't be held to any limitations in a deal that was negotiated in secret with just a few members and/or the Obama administration.

Could we spare a little outrage for the fact that the White House and perhaps members of Congress apparently negotiated a deal on legislation in exchange for running millions of dollars in ads? How is this not bribery and a violation of campaign finance laws?"

Iran's Only AWACS "Crashes"

Iran's only AWACS (Airborne Warning And Control System) "crashed" during a air parade yesterday. The quotes around crashed are not because there is question as to if the plane was destroyed, but exactly how. According to eye witnesses, it collided with an F-5E Tiger II. These types of collisions are not unheard of at air shows, and are reflexively described as either accidental or mechanical failure. While I must stress that there is absolutely no supporting evidence that anything nefarious was at play, the loss of this plane is great news to any country planning an air strike against Iran. Read, Israel may have clandestinely sabotaged Iran's AWACS to make an air strike possible. As I just said, there is absolutely no evidence to support that. Still, I can not help but think they might have, and I am not the only one.

Power Line Blog writer Scott Johnson seems to have been effective in getting a correction after his counter to an unfair attack against O'Keefe (Berman Post: Power Line Blog Defends James O'Keefe). It is not exactly what he was looking for, nor as far as they should have gone, but it is a positive result.

This article about the community organizing group ACORN incorrectly said that a conservative journalist targeted the organization for hidden-camera videos partly because its voter-registration drives bring Latinos and African Americans to the polls. Although ACORN registers people mostly from those groups, the maker of the videos, James E. O'Keefe, did not specifically mention them.

In other words, Post reporters Fears and Leonnig fabricated the existence of an O'Keefe quotation indicating a racial animus for O'Keefe's reportage. The race angle existed only in the minds of the Washington Post itself. Thanks for clearing that up.
