Breitbart to Holder - 'Investigate ACORN or I Will Release More Tapes Right Before The Next Election'

Talk about throwing down the gauntlet. Breitbart called on Holder to investigate ACORN scandal. If he does not, Breitbart promises to release more tapes close the the 2010 election. From most people I would take it as an idle threat, but from Breitbart; well, just look at what he has found/discovered/released this far. I think we will get to find out if Breitbart is bluffing since I doubt Holder will investigate in any meaningful sense, at least by Breitbart's standard.

Microsoft Offers to Pay News Corp to Remove Itself From Google

Microsoft has made an offer to News Corp to remove itself from Google's search engine in exchange for payment. Such an arrangement may have no impact at all. Other sites still listed in Google may link to the stories from News Corp. It also could have a major impact. It could start a trend and/or force people to consider which search engine to use with the knowledge that certain sources are only available on certain search engines.

http://www.businessinsider.com/microsoft-offers-to-pay-news-corp-to-de-list-itself-from-google-2009-11

"Microsoft (MSFT) wants to pay News Corp (NWS) and other large publishers to de-list their Web sites from Google's (GOOG) search index, the Financial Times reports.

The idea is to force Google (GOOG) to pay for content, thinning its currently fat margins.
...
we can't imagine links to worthwhile stories originating from News Corp not finding their way onto sites that will happily remain indexed in Google's search engine free of charge.

Still, if News Corp were to "de-list" from Google, we'd expect to see all kinds of ads touting Bing as the only place to find the Wall Street Journal and MySpace pages online.

Patient Thought to be Coma for 23 Year Was Actually Conscious The Whole Time

Imagine being completely paralyzed, unable to communicate for almost a quarter century. Worse, no one even knows that your conscious remains unchanged. That frightening scenario was a reality for a man thought to be a 'vegetable' but who was totally aware of everything around him.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1230092/Patient-trapped-23-year-coma-conscious-along.html (via)

"A man thought by doctors to be in a vegetative state for 23 years was actually conscious the whole time, it was revealed last night.

Student Rom Houben was misdiagnosed after a car crash left him totally paralysed.

He had no way of letting experts, family or friends know he could hear every word they said.

'I screamed, but there was nothing to hear,' said Mr Houben, now 46.

Doctors used a range of coma tests, recognised worldwide, before reluctantly concluding that his consciousness was 'extinct'.

But three years ago, new hi-tech scans showed his brain was still functioning almost completely normally.

Transition Contact Lenses

Transition sunglasses have been around for a long time, but scientists had been unable to miniaturize the technique. That is until now. The new technique actually makes contact lenses more effective than the sunglasses are.

Picture embedded below.

"Transition lenses, glasses that darken in bright light, have been around for decades. They consist of lenses coated in photochromic dyes that change shape when irradiated by sunlight. When the dye changes, they block out the sun, darkening the lens.

Unfortunately, the small size and malleable material of contact lenses make them impossible to coat uniformly. Therein lies the breakthrough. Rather than coating the lenses in dye, the IBN team embedded the dye within the contact lenses. The resultant lenses not only darken in the light, protecting the wearer from UV rays, but do so orders of magnitude faster than regular transition glasses.

Leaked/Hacked Emails Suggest Global Warming Fraud Among Top Scientists

What exactly these emails show is not entirely clear yet, but there is a strong sense that some of the top human caused global warming proponent scientist were cooking the books. When in doubt, they opted to delete when they should have disclosed. For a good summery of what has been found so far head to http://pajamasmedia.com/instapundit/88756.

The comedy of this story comes from the NY Times. I do not want to rune it for you;

"With the release of hundreds of emails by scientists advocates of global warming showing obvious and entirely inappropriate collusion by the authors -- including attempts to suppress dissent, to punish journals that publish peer-reviewed studies casting doubt on global warming, and to manipulate data to bolster their own arguments -- even the New York Times is forced to concede that "the documents will undoubtedly raise questions about the quality of research on some specific questions and the actions of some scientists." But apparently the paper's environmental blog, Dot Earth, is taking a pass on publishing any of the documents and emails that are now circulating. Andrew Revkin, the author of that blog, writes,

The documents appear to have been acquired illegally and contain all manner of private information and statements that were never intended for the public eye, so they won’t be posted here.

This is the position of the New York Times when given the chance to publish sensitive information that might hinder the liberal agenda. Of course, when the choice is between publishing classified information that might endanger the lives of U.S. troops in the field or intelligence programs vital to national security, that information is published without hesitation by the nation's paper of record. But in this case -- the documents were "never intended for the public eye," so the New York Times will take a pass. I guess that policy wasn't in place when Neil Sheehan was working at the paper."

Just Pet The Kitty

Clearly this cat just wants a little bit of attention. Very patient cop; just wish there was some audio to go with the clip.

Terrorists Tried in NYC to Plead Not Guilty, to Use Court as a Public Forum

Did anyone not see this coming?

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9C4MO781&show_article=1

"A lawyer for one of five men facing trial for the Sept. 11 attacks says the men plan to plead not guilty and use the trial to express their political views.

Attorney Scott Fenstermaker says his client Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali and the others will not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but will tell the jury "why they did it."

He says the men will explain "their assessment of American foreign policy."
