Ahmadinejad Sparks Walk Out at 'Racism Conference' After Calling Israel 'Cruel And Repressive Racist Regime'

In what should come as no surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to this, the UN's 'Durban II' conference on racism was a forum to denounce Israel. The United States pulled out of the conference and did not attend it (Berman Post: US to Pull Out of UN's 'Durban II': "UN's 'Durban II'"), after looking like it would not (Berman Post: $900 Million for Gaza?).

Australia was among those that boycotted the conference (http://www.foreignminister.gov.au/releases/2009/fa-s090419.html), as did Germany (http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jQw60Mb0-dZwXSMTfTWaPLiGbqhwD97LOEDO0), Netherlands (http://www.expatica.com/nl/news/dutch-news/Netherlands-refuses-to-attend-UN-racism-conference_51744.html), Sweden (http://www.thelocal.se/18946/20090418), and New Zealand (http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/2346841/NZ-won-t-attend-racism-conference).

When the Holocaust denying Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused Israel of being "cruel and repressive racist regime" set up on the "pretext of Jewish suffering" (you know, from the Holocaust which he does not believe happened) on Holocaust remembrance day (which is today), Western Delegates walked out. Diplomats from more than 30 countries walked out.

Before that Ahmadinejad's speech had been interrupted by protesters wearing colorful clown hair/wigs who threw soft red balls at him. It did not appear that any hit him. The clip shows both.

Officially the US administration called the speech "vile and fed racial hatred" but also said that it did not preclude talks between the US and Iran(http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3704059,00.html).

Perez Hilton Calls Miss California (Carrie Prejean) a "Dumb B*tch", Was Thinking The thinking of the "C-Word"

Perez Hilton was a judge for the Miss USA pageant. He asked Miss California (Carrie Prejean) if every state should legalize gay marriage.

This is what she said.

Video embedded below. (from http://michellemalkin.com/2009/04/20/gossip-bloggerpageant-judge-calls-contestant-dumb-btch-over-gay-marriage-question)

Some people are saying that the crowed booed her answer, but while there may have been a few it sounded like they were cheering to me.

Perez Hilton did not like that answer and in a video post after the event called her a "Dumb B*tch". Is this an example of that liberal tolerance?

Video embedded below. (from http://www.breitbart.tv/?p=322553)

It is kind of funny, I do not remember Perez Hilton commenting when Obama said this:

Video embedded below.

Perez Hilton later went on MSNBC with more to say. He took back his apology for using the "B-Word" and said that he was actually thinking the "C-Word".

Video embedded below.

Miss California (Carrie Prejean) was first runner up or second place. She believes that this question/answer cost her the crown. There is no way to know if that is true, but would be a shame if it was. More at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,517215,00.html.

The liberal women's groups will be swooping to Carrie Prejean defense and to condemn Perez Hilton for his sexist comments right about ... well, I am not holding my breath.

Rasmussen Reports on The Tea Party Protests

Rasmussen just completed a survey regarding the Tea Party Protests. The most interesting part of the study from my perspective is the gap between the 'Political Class' and 'Mainstream Americans'.

51% of Americans had a favorable view of the Tea Parties including 32% with very favorable views and 33% having unfavorable views. There at 15% who are unsure. The Political Class had a much different view. Only 13% had favorable views to 81% with unfavorable views. None of the Political Class had a very favorable view while 60% hand a very unfavorable view (included in the 81% unfavorable view). That is a 19% favorability advantage among Americans and a 68% edge for unfavorable among the Political Class.

The differences do not end there. A full quarter (25%) of Americans knew someone who attended a Tea Party Protest while only 1% of the Political Class did. The Political Class were also less likely to follow the story then the Mainstream 32% to 68%.

Republicans and Democrats were closer together on some issues then the Mainstream and the Political Class.

CNN Using Copyright to Erase Embarrassing Roesgen Tax Day Tea Party Clips

CNN's Susan Roesgen embarrassed herself and her network with her skewed Tax Day Tea Party Protest (Berman Post: Follow up to CNN's Susan Roesgen Skewed Tax Day Tea Party Protest Interview) which likely resulted in her "previously-planned vacation" (Berman Post: Susan Roesgen 'Takes a Break'). It appears now that CNN is going around using copyright claims to get YouTube to remove all videos of it. This includes videos that use a small part of it in order to comment or put longer clips into prospective.

According to http://copyrightsandcampaigns.blogspot.com/2009/04/cnn-makes-copyright-claim-on-video.html, CNN is in the wrong here.

Founding Bloggers are considering a counter claim (http://www.foundingbloggers.com/wordpress/2009/04/cnn-disappears-our-clip-a-follow-up).

If they really believe copyright violations going on here, lets see them force Fox News to take down their video.

Video embedded below.

At the same time, some on the right are on a mission to keep reposting the videos and make a test case out of this (http://patterico.com/2009/04/18/cnn-the-latest-corporate-thug-to-use-copyright-as-a-weapon-to-eliminate-embarrassing-clips-from-youtube).

Obama Orders $100 Million of $3.5 Trillion Budget Identified to Cut

Obama is ordering his cabinet to find $100 Million of the $3.5 Trillion budget to cut over the next 90 days (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/19/AR2009041902009.html?hpid=topnews).

Let me put this into perspective for you:

http://newledger.com/2009/04/mr-president-we-can-do-math-too
"So let’s give Obama credit for cutting government by $100 million. That’s 0.0027% of his first budget, and 0.0057% of his first deficit.

To put this start toward a net cut into terms that every American can visualize, this is roughly like having a baseball team made up of 3,600 Alex Rodriguezes downsize by cutting one-tenth of an A-Rod from the team. Which would look roughly like the image below.
" Picture referred to at http://newledger.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/arodbudget.jpg.

http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MmI1NzVjZjcyZjU3ZTA0ZTNjNjJmOTc5ODYwYTdiZGI=
"just to put everything into context.

[I]n a $3 trillion budget, a $100m spending cut is equivalent to a person who makes $50,000 a year declaring proudly that he will cut a whopping $1.67 from his expenses.

That's like a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill cutting back by one iced tea per annum."

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,517213,00.html
"One hundred million dollars is 1/35,000th of the total budget. It would be like blowing $100,000 on a stereo system, but returning a $3 cable.
...
One hundren million dollars is a joke — a joke that gets even less funny when you consider that we're spending more than $100 million every 2 hours in interest on our debt alone!
"

http://ace.mu.nu/archives/286235.php
"$100 million isn't even a rounding error in the federal budget. It's not even a rounding error in a single agency's budget.

I get the feeling this is going to become the next often repeated mantra from the Obama administration (like the 'tax cut for 95% of Americans", which is no such thing). They will cut like $500,000 from 200 programs and then spend the next year saying "we've cut the budget of hundreds of programs!". Of course the stenographers in the MSM will eat it up. Meanwhile behind the curtain, spending is going up by a trillion or so dollars.
"

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/SPIN-METER-Saving-federal-apf-14976290.html?.v=1
"The thrifty measures Obama ordered for federal agencies are the equivalent of asking a family that spends $60,000 in a year to save $6.
...
For all the trumpeting, the effort raised questions about why Obama set the bar so low, considering that $100 million amounts to:

--Less than one-quarter of the budget increase that Congress awarded to itself.

--4 percent of the military aid the United States sends to Israel.

--Less than half the cost of one F-22 fighter plane.

--7 percent of the federal subsidy for the money-losing Amtrak passenger rail system.

--1/10,000th of the government's operating budgets for Cabinet agencies, excluding the Iraq and Afghan wars and the stimulus bill.
"

http://hotair.com/archives/2009/04/20/obama-demands-00029-budget-cut-after-running-up-spending
"$100 million barely registers in Washington these days — and certainly does nothing to slow down the Obama spending juggernaut.  Compare this pittance to some of the other numbers that Obama has produced:

  • $100 million from a $3.5 trillion budget for FY2010: 0.0029%

  • $100 million from the $1.2 trillion White House deficit projection for their FY2010 budget: 0.008%

  • $100 million from the $700 billion Porkulus stimulus bill Obama demanded: 0.013%

  • $100 million from the $634 billion “down payment” on nationalized health care: 0.016%

  • $100 million from the $555 billion omnibus spending plan completing the 2009 budget: 0.018%

  • $100 million from the $13 billion in pork from the omnibus spending plan: 0.77%

The cuts that Obama proposes don’t even amount to 1% of the pork Obama signed into law last month in the omnibus spending bill."

http://gregmankiw.blogspot.com/2009/04/fiscal-responsibility.html
"Just to be clear: $100 million represents .003 percent of $3.5 trillion.

To put those numbers in perspective, imagine that the head of a household with annual spending of $100,000 called everyone in the family together to deal with a $34,000 budget shortfall. How much would he or she announce that spending had be cut? By $3 over the course of the year--approximately the cost of one latte at Starbucks. The other $33,997? We can put that on the family credit card and worry about it next year.
"

Head over to http://blog.heritage.org/2009/04/20/obamas-spending-vs-obamas-spending-cuts-in-pictures for a graph.

It is movement in the right direction, but at this pace the universe will come to an end before we reach our destination.

'Teabagging' Clip Compilation

The ridicules sexual references to 'teabagging' (first mentioned at Berman Post: Tax Day Tea Party Media Coverage), have been complied into a clip. It is not all of them, but enough.

Democratic strategist James Carville said the average age of the Tea Party Protesters was 72.4. Really, that is not what I saw.
