MSA Student Who Said She Supports The Annihilation of Jews 'Misunderstood'
Watch the video and decide for yourself, but it looks clear to me that there was no misunderstanding. The back and forth goes on for more than three minutes and it seems a gradual build to that point with no other apparent misunderstandings.

Israel Wargames Assuming Iran Has A Nuke
Is this begrudging acceptance or meant at bolstering Israel's determination to make sure Iran does not get the bomb? I am leaning toward latter because, but either way it is always a good idea to be prepared. Unfortunately it seems that it is all bad news if Iran gets their hands on weapons grade material.

"A nuclear-armed Iran would blunt Israel's military autonomy, a wargame involving former Israeli generals and diplomats has concluded, though some players predicted Tehran would also exercise restraint.
Sunday's event at a campus north of Tel Aviv followed other high-profile Iran simulations in Israel and the United States in recent months. But it broke new ground by assuming the existence of what both countries have pledged to prevent: an Iranian bomb.
"Iranian deterrence proved dizzyingly effective," Eitan Ben-Eliahu, a retired air force commander who played the Israeli defence minister, said in his summary of the 20-team meeting."

Obama Signs Press Freedom Act, Then Refused to Take Any Questions

"There was some rich irony at the White House today -- President Obama signed the Press Freedom Act, and then promptly refused to take any questions.
...
Recall that last Friday the president refused to take any questions after delivering his angry statement on the oil spill in the Rose Garden. And he has not held a prime-time White House news conference in many months...
So after he signed the bill, and as the press "wranglers" began aggressively herding us out of the room, I asked if he still has confidence in BP. He ignored the question so I tried this: "In the interest of press freedom, would you take a couple questions on BP?"
That did elicit a smile, and he told me I was free to ask questions. Someone else shouted, "Will you answer them?"
He said he's not holding a press conference today as we were escorted out the door."

US Navy to Allow Women to Serve on Submarines
The United State's Navy will start allowing women to serve on submarines. My main question/concern is what will happen in the event one of the women serving on the sub either becomes pregnant or realizes they are pregnant only after launch. It seems there are two main possibilities, both unpalatable. Either turn around and head home to port or continue the mission with the pregnant lady. I think instead they might send a ship to pick up the women, though even that would compromise the sub's anonymity at least for a while.

"The U.S. policy banning women from serving on submarines passed quietly into history Thursday morning.
Secretary of Defense Robert Gates notified lawmakers in mid-February that the Navy would be lifting the ban - unless Congress objected.
Navy spokesman Lt. Justin Cole said the deadline for Congress to object passed at midnight without action."

Prominent Liberals Accuse Obama of "War Crimes" Adding That He is "Worse Than Bush"
I disagree, but it is nice to see some consistency from the liberals.

"US actors and liberal intellectuals joined a list to be published Friday of nearly 2,000 people accusing President Barack Obama of allowing human rights violations and war crimes.
...
It takes aim especially at Obama’s decision — reported by US officials — to authorize the killing of a radical Islamic cleric and US citizen Anwar al-Awlaki, who is accused of ties to Al-Qaeda in Yemen.
“In some respects this is worse than Bush,” the statement says. “First, because Obama has claimed the right to assassinate American citizens whom he suspects of ‘terrorism,’ merely on the grounds of his own suspicion or that of the CIA, something Bush never claimed publicly.”"
