Large Hadron Collider's "Big Ring" is Turned on

The world's most powerful particle accelerator has been turned on for testing this weekend. It will become fully operational on September 10th if everything stays on schedule. Their was a myth going around that it would create a black hole that would destroy the world, but that has been soundly debunked.
